Today I travelled about 500 Kms from Coal River, BC to Teslin, Yukon.
Before leaving Coal River this morning, I met a fellow biker, Dan, from Winnipeg. We spent the day riding together and plan to meet up to travel together again.
Over the morning, in northern BC, we encountered a herd of buffalo (or bison) that wandered back and forth across the highway in front of us. We were scared to drive through the herd so we were patient and waited them out. Soon enough we were able to drive past.
As elevations changed, so did the weather. It was rainy and cold and now as I sit here and write, it's warm in Teslin.
We saw a lot of construction and gravel on the highway—both which slowed us down and made us more cautious on two wheels.
Continental Divide Lodge Yukon is open and fabulous. I recommend travelers stay at the Lodge instead of rushing on. We ate an amazing lunch and it was hard to leave!
Today was tiring as we had a headwind all day, so I’m calling it a night!
